With its instant ear-worms in the form of catchy melodies, our school production of 'Little Shop of Horrors' burst into life last week, and what a treat it was! Outstanding solo performances and first class ensemble pieces came together in this captivating cult classic, supported by the highest production values. The school stage was magically transformed into Skid Row, and nobody will ever forget the incredible 'Audrey 2' plants that were designed and built (and operated) by Dr Ridley and her team. Huge thanks and congratulations go to Miss Johnson and Mr Tugby for their commitment and hard work in producing this highly entertaining and memorable show.
"Little Shop of Horrors is by far one of the best shows that I have ever been involved in at TWGGS. This musical was such an uplifting experience for me. I don’t think we could have pulled it off without the amazing directors, the set, the puppeteers, the lighting, the band and, of course, the actors. Although the rehearsal period was quite intense - we all rehearsed most days after school and on weekends - all of our time was well spent, and I’m really proud of how professional this show was in the end. This experience has taught me so much about singing, acting and dancing, and I’ve made so many new friends from all year groups. It feels really good when people come up to me and say that they enjoyed watching it! To hear the music playing backstage and looking to see who was in the audience was so exciting. I can’t wait until our next musical: I wonder what it will be?"
