Congratulations to Year 9 pupil Rachel, who recently competed in the Optimist African Sailing Championships in the Seychelles.  

 

This was a much anticipated competition, after a month’s delay due to shipping problems with the boats they were racing, and the Seychelles did not disappoint. An idyllic venue and a warm welcome awaited the team of eight U15s from Great Britain, who joined representatives from 15 countries. 

 

Rachel had a great event, finishing 23rd and top British girl. Firm friendships were made with children from all over the world and amazing memories were made.
