On the 14th of March, the U14 hockey team travelled to Marden Russets Hockey club to compete in a 7-a side tournament. The team got off to a flying start with a 6-0 victory against Langley Park, which included some great goals from strikers Tilly and Harriet .
We then played our toughest opposition in the tournament in Cranbrook who had some strong offensive plays and caused our keeper Isla to make some great saves. However, in the end we proved stronger, controlling the play well and ending up with a 4-0 win.
Next, we played Sackville School, where we again played a strong match with some great goals from our midfielders Poppy and Bronagh which gave us an early lead and a final result of 4-0. After a short break, we then faced our final opposition which was Oathall. This match took us the longest to get on the scoreboard, however, we finally managed to score, and with some great tackles from the defence to ensure we did not concede any goals, we managed to get a final result of 3-0.
Overall, everyone on the team had a very fun day, the sun was shining and we are very happy to have managed to get a tournament win.
