Eggs-citing times!

21st Jan 2025

We are waiting in anticipation for our Indian Stick Insect eggs to hatch. They currently resemble tiny brown seeds. This is the first time we have had some "Twiglets" in our school. Students from the Science Club and our Lab Technician, Mrs Truman, will be responsible for the Twiglets upkeep once they have hatched.

Fun Fact: Only about one in a thousand are born male. The Indian Stick Insect species are parthenogenetic, which means females are able to lay fertile eggs without mating with a male.

More news once they hatch!
