What a trip that was! 36 brilliantly resilient and positive Year 11 pupils put on their waterproofs and smiled their way through the worst storms the region had seen for well over a decade! But determined to show proper TWGGS' character, the weather didn't stop us from exploring the extraordinary history of Pompeii and Herculaneum, or taking part in amazing hands-on workshops in a hilltop pizzeria and traditional, family-run gelateria. We sampled organic olive oil and watched as mozzarella was made in front of us. We travelled to the far tip of the Amalfi coast and practised Italian in the shops and restaurants of Sorrento. After all that, we could have done without the travel delays we encountered on our journey home - but it all made for a thoroughly eventful trip that we will be talking about for a long time to come.
