Earlier in the summer, after two trials/competitions, including the British Championship in Telford, Year 10 pupil Lena and her partner Maxim were selected for Team GB to attend the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships which were held in Guimaraes, Portugal this September.
Lena and Maxim had a difficult battle to secure their place in the finals, but they delivered an excellent performance and achieved fifth place. Their appearance at the championships was tinged with sadness as their partnership has had to come to end, as Maxim has left to take up a place at university.
Congratulations to them both on their wonderful achievement.
