Sunday 23rd June saw the TWGGS Ski Team enter the London Schools' Ski Championships for the first time at Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn Garden City. After a warm up and a course inspection the team were onto the (daunting) start ramp for the 12 slalom gates course.

All skied the course fantastically completing both runs, with Lila gaining 1st overall fastest female and Bella, Betsy and Tamara gaining TWGGS B third in their category. Next was the dual team slalom, where both the TWGGS teams placed fourth. Fifty minutes after leaving the race, the girls were in the Snowdome at Hemel for two hours of slalom gate training - a first for most of them.

After a fun dinner and a night in a hotel, the girls returned to the Snowdome for their first ever indoor snow race, racing at the English Schools Indoor Championships with 200 other racers. A warm up and course inspection was followed by a 15 gate tough course where the girls had to deal with the quickness of the snow which forms a thin race track and ruts. The girls put down impressive runs with Lila gaining first in her category and Lorraine, Bess, Ella and Lila gaining TWGGS a second in the category. The team had a truly fun, exciting, tiring two days which they thoroughly enjoyed.
