Enterprise day allowed us to entirely create a new company, developing essential skills for future life such as team work and collaboration, from the security of the C-Block! Our groups were randomly selected across the year group, offering a realistic work-like scenario of working with different people. The day was run by inspiring, experienced people in the field, allowing us to not only further our understanding of the industry but to gain practical advice from these professionals, relating to our groups' ideas and potential future career opportunities. Our group, Climate Conscious Catering won due to our creative, collaborative ideas and effective time management skills. More from the group below! 

At the beginning of the day, we each assigned different positions to each other so that each person could be in charge of something in particular (e.g. Finance Officer, Project Manager.) However throughout the course of the day, we largely worked collaboratively on the tasks to ensure all our ideas were inputted.

Many of us had a variety of different skill sets and knowledge which really helped us tackle specific tasks and develop our ideas into an effective presentation. 

There were a plethora of tasks to complete in order to have the whole idea come together seamlessly. We had to advertise, create a menu, and plan entertainment whilst budgeting all these things. There was a range of tasks that required different skill sets (e.g. creativity for designing the logo). This meant that everyone took part and put something towards our final result. The range of tasks meant that we could also learn new skills that might help us in the future, a particularly notable one being budgeting as it is something we are quite likely to use. 

The main thing I took away from Enterprise Day was presenting ideas and public speaking skills. When considering our presentation for the year group, we considered engagement and effective communication of ideas. Thank you to all that were involved - it was the most amazing experience!
