Home-grown Daphnia

Our Year 13 Biology pupils have completed an A Level practical using Daphnia ('water fleas') from our very own school pond.
 
Observing the Daphnia under a microscope, the heart rate of the Daphnia was recorded in both warm and cold water. The Daphnia were then carefully returned home to the pond.
