Glyndebourne Opera Visit
20th Nov 2023
"On Wednesday 15th November, my classmates and I had the exciting opportunity to go to see Don Giovanni at the Glyndebourne opera house. This was my second time visiting Glyndebourne, the first being in year 10 with TWGGS, and it was just as fantastic as I remember it being.
The opera was amazing all round. I was very impressed with the sets; they were so beautiful and grand. However, I was most impressed by the extremely talented opera singers and the orchestra. I was starstruck by their vocal ranges and the individual characters' arias, which are the solo pieces in an opera. The conductor also caught my attention, she was the conductor of the previous opera we went to and she never ceased to amaze me as she seemingly effortlessly commanded the orchestra.
The music was incredible, and as a music student it was fascinating to see how the music linked to what was happening on stage. Overall, I am very grateful to have been able to visit the famous Glyndebourne once more and I really enjoyed the entertaining story of Don Giovanni."
Bea, Year 11
