Congratulations to Eilidh in Year 10, who has been awarded a place on the GB Fencing Olympic Athlete Development Programme. The programme supports elite performance athletes to achieve at the highest level of fencing, including Olympic success and inspiring others.
Usually only for those aged 15 years old and above, this is a remarkable achievement for Eilidh who will join a year early. She will work though a defined development pathway, attend national training camps, and receive support with psychology, physiology and nutrition to help her perform to her best.
Eilidh has spent time training in Budapest at one of the top Hungarian clubs over the summer, and she will return to Budapest in October to represent GB in the first European Circuit competition of the season. We look forward to following her progress!
