Work on converting the old school gym into a number of exciting new workspaces began over the Summer holidays and is continuing apace. The project will see the school gain two new science labs, a laboratory prep room and chemical store, as well as six new offices.
The early stage of the project revealed the original vaulted ceiling, hidden since the 1950s when an earlier building conversion took place. As part of the original school building, the space was the first school hall, later converted to a gym when we gained what is now our school hall. In a clever use of the newly available height, the vaulted ceiling allows us to construct an extra floor above the labs, which will become a new staff room.
We are all very much looking forward to this further addition to our excellent facilities.
