It has been another busy year in the Art department, with many achievements to celebrate. We'd like to mark the end of the academic year by reflecting on our annual GCSE and A Level Summer Exhibition held at the end of June. We were joined by friends and family to celebrate the achievement of our exam groups. Guests were able to enjoy a range of creative outcomes in a range of different media from a multitude of disciplines that are covered within our Fine Art curriculum, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, architecture, textiles, and graphic design, to name a few. TWGGS artists work hard through the year, exploring and investigating, experimenting and making, refining their ideas and outcomes to successfully create their impactful outcomes.
As ever, we are delighted and proud to be able to share their work. Guests were very impressed by what they saw. A few pull quotes from our visitors to the exhibition:
'I am always amazed at the individuality, skill, talent and love of Art demonstrated.' Mrs Marchant 'What a privilege to be part of such a wonderful department!' A Level Artist 'TWGGS artists are so talented! Well done everyone, such a beautiful exhibition.' Parent 'We enjoyed all the pupils’ superb artwork yesterday, and its excellent presentation on the part of the staff. Congratulations to everyone involved.' Grandparent There will be a further opportunity to enjoy the GCSE and A Level work from this exhibition in the Autumn term, when the accompanying digital exhibitions launch on our school website. In the meantime, you can enjoy weekly term time updates from @twggs_art Instagram account, which celebrates creativity through the academic year. We would also like to draw attention to the Super Curricular section of pupils' Art Google Classroom, which includes a 'What's On' slide show, directing pupils to a selection of Art exhibitions.
