Year 10 GCSE German pupils recently travelled to Germany to stay with their exchange partners and to put their language skills to the test. Here, pupil Samantha tells us of her experiences:

 

"I really enjoyed my week on the German Exchange doing activities with my exchange partner and family such as hiking up Drachenfels, baking, playing games, visiting Christmas markets and (a lot of) chatting! Having a family who spoke minimal English was a challenge for me but my confidence quickly grew throughout the week and my German

definitely improved! 

 

"We did four lessons at the Clara Fey Gymnasium which were very interesting, and we visited Aachen, Bonn and Cologne with all of the German exchange students. Here, we spent a lot of money in the Haribo and Lindt factories, had a tour of the Cathedrals, and bought lots of gifts (and food!) at the Christmas markets. I really loved my time in Germany and I would recommend it to anyone."
