TWGGS Remembers - Armistice Day 2024

11th Nov 2024
The whole school community came together on Monday to commemorate Armistice Day. As part of our tradition of TWGGS fundraising for the Royal British Legion, pupils raised over £500 through poppy donations and Own
Clothes Day. The school paused at 11am for the National Two-Minute Silence, as staff and pupils reflected on the words and images of John McCrae’s WW1 poem, ‘In Flanders Fields’.

TWGGS CCF had a very busy weekend taking part in both the War Widows Parade at the Cenotaph in Central London and in the Service of Remembrance in Tunbridge Wells, marching and laying a wreath on behalf of the school at the War Memorial.

Armistice Assemblies for all year groups have focused on the vital contribution of military nurses, from the early years of the British Red Cross to current conflicts across the world today.
