A very emotional, joyous evening was enjoyed by those who attended the Leavers' Concert last week, either as a performer or an audience member. It was a celebration of the wealth of talent possessed by our Sixth Form musicians, as they prepare to leave TWGGS and embark on whatever their futures hold for them.
Here Alice, our outgoing Music Prefect who did a wonderful job of organising the event, gives us her report on the evening:
"Last Thursday, the Upper Sixth had a bittersweet goodbye to the music department at the 2024 Leavers’ Concert! A variety of emotional solos, including a beautiful performance of Half the World Away (Oasis) by Eliza, and Vienna (Billy Joel) by Harriet, and many others, moved the whole room to tears, and it was lovely to have the opportunity to sing some of our favourites as a choir for the last time. Everyone from the Upper Sixth would like to say a big thank you to Miss Johnson and Mrs Waddington, and to everyone involved in making our time in the TWGGS music department so special."
