Congratulations to Lower Sixth pupil, Maryam Syeda, who has been selected as a finalist in the Northeastern University Year 12 Essay Writing Competition. This is a huge achievement, particularly given that there were over 4500 entries.
The selection of essay titles on offer covered a broad range of humanities and social sciences topics, and entries were welcomed from anywhere in the world. From the choice of nine titles on offer, Maryam chose the Psychology question, 'How could psychology explain atrocious acts towards humans, such as during war times?' In recognition of her amazing achievement (placing in the top 12% of all entries), Maryam has been invited to attend the awards ceremony in London in April.
