Over 40 lucky Year 8 pupils had a wonderful time on the ski trip to Austria over half term. The choice of Obertauern as the ski resort, the highest in Austria, meant that skiing conditions were excellent from the moment they arrived. Pupils covered the whole range of skiing abilities, with first-timers learning to ski and making rapid progress in the six wonderful days that they had, and advanced skiers going backwards down the mountain on challenging open runs!

For après-ski, the group were treated to an evening horse-drawn sleigh ride through the countryside, a Tyrolean evening with traditional Austrian dancing, a quiz night, and burning off even more energy at the swimming pool, complete with waterslides.

All the pupils are extremely grateful to all the staff who organised and accompanied them on the trip, giving up their half term break to make sure the trip was a week of making amazing memories that will last a lifetime.
