Sports Day 2023

Sports Day 2023

13th Jul 2023

TWGGS held its annual celebration of sport on Wednesday 12th July. Sports day is always an enjoyable day that brings the school together. It was lovely to see the support amongst friends and the excellent involvement from all.

Year 12 produced some fantastic costumes and brought back the parade around the track. L6E won the fancy dress contest by dressing up as Eminem. We also had Australians, Barbie, Cooks & Cleaners and Dads.

We saw some excellent performances in the Track & Field events as well as the various other sports on offer such as tennis, volleyball, table tennis and badminton. A particular well done to the Year 10s, many of whom had just come back from their Duke of Edinburgh expedition. Furthermore, many had attended the annual CCF camp the weekend before.

Thank you to our Sports Prefects and Head Girl team who supported the PE Department in the set up and running of the day: Azzahra Lawal, Eva Williams, Poppy Dascombe, Kitty Haycock, Skye Newman and Leah Bebb.

There were many fantastic performances throughout the day with some pupils stepping out of their comfort zone to earn points for their house. Congratulations to all pupils who fully immersed themselves in the day.
