An Evening of Dance and Gymnastics

8th Feb 2024

TWGGS held its annual ‘Evening of Gymnastics and Dance’ on Wednesday 7th February. The evening consisted of a number of dance, gymnastics and cheerleading performances choreographed by the pupils themselves. Behind the scenes they have all rehearsed endlessly and worked incredibly hard to bring their routines together. There was a lovely atmosphere at this uplifting evening, with a chance for pupils to showcase their talents.

A special thank you to Chloe Sudds who choreographed the cheerleading routine, and who has kindly run the cheerleading club; this has once again been extremely well received by pupils.

Thank you also to our incredible sports prefects who attended the evening, supporting the performers and ensuring the event ran smoothly; thank you Poppy Dascombe, Azzahra Lawal, Eva Williams and Polly Picton.

To help celebrate the wonderful evening, the Food Technology department was thrilled to be asked to provide some canapés for everyone to enjoy. Eleven Year 9 pupils very kindly gave up their lunchtime on Wednesday 7th February, to prepare and cook an assortment of mini bites. These ranged from vegetable samosas, mini quiches, spinach pinwheels and sticky sausages. The pupils showed off their excellent practical skills and were able to put their hygiene knowledge into a real life situation.  The evening was a huge success, with all the canapés being consumed before the end of the interval!  Thank you to all the pupils who came to help.

Our Young Enterprise team were also in attendance, selling their beautiful handmade 'Blossom Beads' bracelets in the foyer.
