Inter-Schools University Challenge Competition

Inter-Schools University Challenge Competition

23rd Apr 2023
Sixth Form pupils have had the opportunity this year to take part in the first Inter-Schools University Challenge competition. Dr Blanch has put mixed Lower and Upper Sixth teams through their paces during lunchtime heats, ready for the Grand Final, hosted by TWGGS, on Thursday 20th April.

Six impressive TWGGS competitors (Harley, Khani, Heather, Toyin, Holly and Caitlin) were joined by teams from Skinners', Judd, TGS and Mayfield School to face Starters for 10 on topics as varied as Tudor recipes, global trading blocs, medical abbreviations and Booker Prize winning first lines.

While the Judd Team took first place overall, every school rose to the challenge of tough questioning and impressed with their general knowledge and resilience under pressure. We hope that this will now become an annual fixture for TWGGS and look forward to welcoming a new group of Sixth Formers to the competition next year.
